screen refresh issue in GW 5.5.1 32 bit client

I traced the problem to tcp host names. It seems on machines where
winsock2 is running ( which the newer versions of client32 installs),
if the host/domain info in the DNS page of tcp properties is not
resolvable, the machines will have refresh problems when dragging
items to folders, placing on calendar, etc. 

Solution: make sure the is a proper host name/Domain that can be
resolved by your DNS. This works for us; your mileage may vary...

We've had screen refresh problems lately with GW 5.2.4 because the
servers  are getting really heavy use.  Users are having problems
logging in and everything runs slow on some days.

I have several users who complain that their inbox does not refresh
automatically in a timely fashion.  this occurs when correcting
calendar
items and in their inbox.  I haven't seen the issue but I know that
I
roam around my folders so am constantly requesting updated lists. 
I've
verified that the apps threshold is not set to server only - the
machines are at least P266 with adequate ram.  the clients are
installed
locally.

is anyone else see this?  anyone have any thoughts?
