Not sure if this is the best way but what you could do is use the Nicknames for each user unless there are loads of them.
I don't think you can use the dot in Nicknames so you could have just the first or last name set up as a nichname. I think if you change the default for internet addressing it will change all outgoing mail.

Here's what I want to have happen.
I want internet email to go out as userid at domain.com. I want to be able to receive userid at domain.com and first.last at domain.com.
In the internet addressing setup, I have configured userid at domain.com as the default. If I change it to firsname.lastname at domain.com, will this change the outbound emails?
Right now we have a linux box set up to handle first.last inbound aliases.
