[ngw] BES -- device setup question

I believe that BES will create a connection a a specific address on the net which effectively acts as a proxy.
(Blackberry Server Configuration -> Blackberry Router), the BES will talk to this address - presumably opening a 'permanent' connection (netstat appears to confirm it). The Blackberry devices themselves will contact the Blackberry service providers host and traffic will get redirected to your server.
Someone can probably call me on that one, the documentation I have found shockingly bad, so it is based on assumption and what I have seen :-)

firewall? How can a device talk to the BES server if not?
