Hi Gary:
I want to thank for your reply.
I had renamed his archive directory and it continued to do this
weirdness - but I want to take another look to see if anything did
indeed get archived.
My user is out today - so I'll post my reponse publicly tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Jeffrey,
Does any email get archived, or does the routine just appear to run.
We see this with users with large archives as GW will index the
archive
at login. With large archives over a network this can take a while and
so is seen by the user.

Hi:
I have a user (7.0.3 HP2) whose mailbox goes into an Auto Archive
routine at login. This is on WinXP
We have auto archiving disabled and locked down at the domain level.
Funny thing is, if I login to the workstation then login to user's
GroupWise account, auto archiving does not happen. I've renamed his
Archive directory; and run numerous GWCHECKS on his acct. - no change.
Does anyone have a clue as to why one user's acct would act this way?
Thanks much!
Regards
