We had the same problem. This is what we did to fix the date format.
 

Open the following files
CssResources_en.properties 
CssResources.properties
 
Change the date that is displayed in a list of items
OLD: ItemList.Item.Date.format=M/d/yy 
NEW: ItemList.Item.Date.format=d/M/yy

After that restart the following components:
apache2 
tomcat5 
webac80a

I've finally got around to installing GW 8 Webaccess against our GW 8 post offices. The new interface is very nice, however the date format is in US-style (MM/DD/YY) instead of UK-style (DD/MM/YY). 

I've found documentation on how to change it for GW 7 (which I did at the time), however I can't find anything for GW 8. Can anyone give me any pointers?
