Now that I've been kinda "in charge" of the list for awhile, I thought I'd
point out an observation that I've made.  I occasionally get notifications
that mail has been discarded by the list because it is too large.  And I've
had a couple of complaints that digests are sent too frequently.  So here's
what I've found:

1.  Mail over 40k is discarded - so if you notice that mail you send doesn't
make it, it could be that it's too large.
2.  Digests were set to send once a day or when they reach 30K, whichever
comes first.  I've been told that some days recipients receive close to a
dozen digests, often only comprising 2 or 3 messages.

Both of these issues are generally problems with excessive quotebacks.  So,
I've upped the size of the digest to try to get it back to a "daily" digest.
 However, I'm not going to increase the file size, and I would suggest that
if you are just hitting reply and quoting back messages that contain
multiple copies of the same quoteback, it might be useful to try to clean
things up a bit.
