I've kind of resigned myself the fact that Novell doesn't seem terribly interested in addressing the Mac and Linux market with GroupWise.
If there is going to be no enhancement for the Linux and Mac clients, why bother with them at all? They are really barely adequate, and only acceptable for use by hard core GroupWise people using those platforms.
I've had universally negative results trying to introduce GW into heavily Mac populated environments because of this. Linux users are more tolerant in general, but they have so many choices that appear better, they don't feel the need to even try to overlook the limitations.
If Novell is not serious about these clients, they should focus their attention on integrating calendar functions with strong third party mail clients like thunderbird by syncing the address books and provide calendar support for calendaring clients like sunbird.
Even as bad as the Linux/Mac client is, it still has a huge performance benefit with large mailboxes with many folders, but I guess I'll have to give that up.
It's nice that they want to enhance the web client to function as equivalent as the windows client as possible, but it will still be a web client, which doesn't work for a very large number of people, so we're stuck with a really great mail system with an orphan client.
I have a hard time evangelizing about a product, like I have with GroupWise for years, if my experience with the product continuously deteriorates relative to the rest of the market.

I have some second thoughts on the NOT enhancing of the Linux and Mac
client... WebAccess will be the client with the most (... whatever that
means in reality, look at archives, caching, etc.) features next to the
Windows client. This will NOT be embraced by the Linux users I guess.
