Sorry, must not have shown tongue in cheek. For me technical IS fun.  
Discuss energy constraints and space colonization, food production/ 
population/energy use, Economics and science in politics (yes, you CAN  
assign objective values to politicians), number theory as applied to  
ecology - or computer malware and you have my attention. Or maybe  
string theory and it's failure to provide useful results for 30 years...
