[ngw] OT: Is eGuide dead?

I finally have a use for eGuide, but when I downloaded the documentation, I found that the only supported Linux platform is Red Hat. Based on forum hits, I see that people have made it work on SLES, but I'm not interested in implementing (or even proposing) a dead product.
 
1. Is it dead?
 
2. Are there any other products that do what it does? (Pretty web presentation of attributes including photos and org charts from eDirectory?)
