IMHO, the single biggest product mistake made for user acceptance was abandoning the Outlook Connector. What I have learned over the past couple of years is that users want Outlook. Period. It doesn't matter how well you try to sell the GW client features and advantages, they want Outlook. It's what they use at home, it's what they used at their last job, and it's what they want now. They don't care what's on the back end.
I love the GW client, but I have just about given up trying to convince management and my users of its superiority. The only way we're going to be able to keep GW here past the next year or so is to have it work with Outlook. For me, that's where the $$ needs to be spent.

Well, I think we are seeing some of that too. For example the admin changes that will come in Windemere. The dropping of the GWINTER. There comes a time when you have to make changes to advance the product that mean leaving the old behind. And I don't think this idea has been totally ignored by Novell even for the Windows client. At the IT Tech night, I heard a number of ideas that suggested a brand new client for all is not out of the question.
At this point though, I think it's more "all cards on the table, and what see happens next". I.e., a lot of good talk, and I believe a lot of great intentions, but no actual commitments yet as to what might come next. But I got the distinct impression from everyone I talked to that there is very little that has been totally ruled out.
