I usually allow 8 GB for root and partition off /boot and /var. The former is old hat in the event I want to dabble with my boot loader somewhat and the latter because its the best native candidate to grow to capacity.

If we're talking local disks I would consider dedicating the last partition to GW so it can be expanded easily. If you use LVM all the better as a new physical disk can be added to the volume group when expansion is necessary.

>Setting up a new SLES 11 server (with OES) This server will hold the primary domain and Poas.
>Does anyone have a recommendation for partition sizes for root? I found some old docs that reference SLES 9 and 10 but, nothing for 11.
