Hello Danita,
yes, we can do that. You can visit www.groupwise.cz for reference. There are some of our GroupWise projects.
Thank you in advance for connecting me with Marvin.
Kind regards

>From your description, this sounds less like an appliance than a
template, with add-on repositories.
I could get behind that sort of an idea.
In most cases, I have found appliance based apps to be a real
straightjacket in regards to deploying in different environments I deal
with, and I much prefer installing an app on a base platform.
There are a few exceptions. Firewalls, for example. I don't have a
problem with an appliance based application model, so long as an install
option is available, but an appliance-only option is something I find
very restrictive.

Recently at GWAVAcon in Berlin and at the MF Summit i had discussions
about the posibility of a
Common Appliance for Micro Focus products and Add-ons.

I just put the idea into the portal. Because there is no common portal
for new ideas
i put it into the different product portals.

Common Appliance for Micro Focus products and Add-ons

for easy deployment, maintaining and scaling it would be good to have
a
common appliance for Micro Focus products and Add-ons

- Deployment as VM basic template (SLES11/12)
- Store / repository for installable products
- Update over SMT server (SMT server would be on the first Appliance)
- Install Micro Focus Products like SMT, Filr, Vibe, GMS, GroupWise,
GroupWise Messenger, iPrint, ServiceDesk, ZCM, OES ...
- Install common products like Database (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
- Install common products for search indexer
- Install Add-on products like GWAVA, Retain, KeyShield SSO,
SecureAnyBox
- common solution for backup
- common monitoring

A customer has come to me asking for the following. It's all development, not just consulting or support.

Is there someone at Microfocus or somewhere I could point them to that could help them with this project?

--------
We would like to fully integrate Groupwise with our business applications and business data.
This includes
1\ Customizing the Groupwise desktop client to enable the user to input ClientIDs and other business data into Header fields in their emails
2\ Integrating Groupwise address books and signatures with .Net business applications.
3\ Integrating Groupwise message data store with SQL Server data

for last day or so multiple gwdva processes on the server are eating quite a bit of CPU. Not sure if its playing catch up or what..and users are reporting searches are very slow.

Make sure you have more than one DVA assigned to your POA. I assign up to three per POA and stagger the load among a pool of three DVAs for all my POAs and WebAccess services in the same network location. The WebAccess service puts a heavier load on the DVAs since its asking the DVA to convert the file to HTML format while the POA just asks for "word lists" to be sent back.

Make sure you are running build 124209 or newer of the DVA where Micro Focus improved the behavior of the DVA. So 14.2.1.1 would have the DVA fixes in it.

Check the DVA log files (hope it was in verbose mode). The latest DVA will auto cleanup the TMP files left behind by the Oracle Stellent subroutine.

Every night at 8pm I get an email saying "QuickFinder Indexing will not start until the configured DVA is active"

If I check "rcgrpwise status" the gwdva is "dead". Anyway to figure out whats happening? or any temp files that need to be cleared?
