What about snapshots on hosts that are not vmware like KVM?

If you use the process of stopping the agents right before the snapshot
is
taken and starting them up right after, then you have a good backup of
the
GW databases within the snapshot. You can still use dbcopy to create a
GW
restore area, but you won't need the additional copy simply to insure
you
have a good, consistent backup.
