Agree, if i had storage integrated Veeam snapshoots which takes only
some seconds
than its ok to stop the agents for the time of the snapshoot. Users
will not see
any downtime.

If i had "normal" snapshots than the agents would be down for at least
the time which 
it takes to backup the ctk file of the vm which can be minutes or
hours.
For such an enviroment the agents cannot be taken down. Thats why i do
a second dbcopy 
backup.

(or use SEP sesam or other backup software which can do a TSA related
backup)

If you use the process of stopping the agents right before the snapshot

taken and starting them up right after, then you have a good backup of
the
GW databases within the snapshot.  You can still use dbcopy to create a
GW
restore area, but you won't need the additional copy simply to insure
you
have a good, consistent backup.
