[ngw] "Post Office Not Found" Error

You know I thought of one other thing for you to check. In the POA HTTP monitor, you want to look for the Redirection Tables link -of some sort -I do not recall offhand. Once found you can ask to update/resend I believe -again not sure as I do not have a POA HTTP mon in front of me. But that might be an easy.

If the user can login with the new name -than that means that users PO is good. If not, it means the users PO needs some help.

If your redirection is an issue on a different PO then that users -and the users PO is good -then you need to Replicate/rebuild on that redirection PO.

The key is making sure the changes are seen when connected to EACH domain involved. Remember just connecting to the Primary domain is ONLY seeing what the Primary sees -not what the Secondary sees. The old saying Each domain has its own view of the GW system. Your job is to make sure that all domains -and po's- see the same thing.

Good Luck!

Gregg,

Thank you for your suggestions! Should I rebuild the user's PO in the secondary domain or the PO in the primary domain where the post office redirection is not working?

If GW14 and above --once user name is changed try Replicate on the user object to make sure the update is pushed out to all domains/PO's. Then you might do the same on the PO where the user was changed.

Structure/Fix etc does not work for a rename per se.

Worst case you may have to do a rebuild of the PO. But first make sure the Primary domain KNOWS about the name change. Then make sure the Secondary Domain KNOWS about the name change. Then the PO 'should know' but if not, Replicate or Rebuild of PO db to push down the changes to the PO.

If the first/only time this has happened it might be a one off issue. If its happened more often then you may have a communications issue.

Good luck and let us know if you need more help.

Subject: [ngw] "Post Office Not Found" Error

Good morning!

I recently renamed a user who resides in a post office in a secondary domain. Since I renamed the user, post office redirection does not work for this particular user. I receive a Post Office Not Found error. If I rename the user back to her original user name, post office redirection works. So far I have run GWCheck Analyze/Fix and Structural Rebuild on the user. I also tried syncing the secondary domain with the primary domain. Any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Thank you!

Brad
