[ngw] Antw: GW in Vm environment

I concur with Joe's statement.

That's not exactly accurate. Take a look at my CS article. :-)

https://www.novell.com/communities/coolsolutions/veeam-adds-oes-2015-support/

A traditional Veeam backup stops the agents as part of a pre-freeze
script
which happens when the VMware snapshot is created. Then the agents
are
started as part of a post-thaw script which happens as soon as the
snapshot
creation is finished. There's no need to keep the agents down during
the
backup. The agents instead are down for only as long as it takes to
create
a snapshot which is what, maybe 30 seconds max? Users shouldn't ever
notice much of anything.

I actually ran this strategy by a former colleague who is still at
Micro
Focus and I believe also subscribes to the ngwlist. Hopefully he'll
see
this and chime in. :-) But he said he knows of many GW customers who
went
to this sort of strategy after virtualizing GW.
