As much a personal preference as technical. Though I would consider the decision to go with Ubuntu as a platform choice to be market/technical issue.
That was a very big part of it.
However, the new management interface was another nail, so to speak.
It looked like a hot mess and, with the other bigger issue, not worth my time to adapt to when I had other, basically free, alternatives for all of my current clients.

All of my GW customers have a Sophos UTM firewall. We use the filtering feature on thise.
Used to use GWAVA, until they (IMHO) screwed it up with the 7 release.
I understand that is being remediated, though.

Cloud based or on-prem? Any pros/cons ?
Are you happy with it ?
