[ngw] Use of variables

Pam beat me to it. :-)
Do keep in mind that you will want to put WebAccess on its own dedicated server. Mixing WebAccess 18.2 with other GW 18.3 functions on the same server is asking for trouble (if it even works).

Thanks Ken
I looks like that will work. However 18.3 doesn't support Webaccess, which forces people to use the "skinny" GW Web which doesn't support signatures, and business clients need that.
In previous documentation MF led us to believe that Webaccess simply would no longer be developed, but still supported, but the 18.3 documentation says it isn't supported. I wonder if anyone has tried it in order to define what "isn't supported" actually means.
Cheers

Craig,
I have not tried it yet, but in GroupWise 18.3, there are two mail merge options. One is the typical MS Word mail merge, but there is also a GroupWise mail merge. See https://www.novell.com/documentation/groupwise18/gw18_guide_userwin/data/email_sending.html#email_mail_merge
Might achieve what you are after, but you will need to upgrade to get it.

Hi all
I wonder if anyone has an answer to this.
I see in the Address Book | Advanced Tab, there are fields like First Name, Last Name etc.
Is it possible to use these as variables so that bulk emails can be personalised?
For example along the lines of Dear %First Name%, and if that field in the address book is Paul, then the field is populated with Paul as the email is sent out.
I have tried various options, but nothing works. I know I can do something with Word, and then Mail Merge to GroupWise, but I was trying to do something more simple than that.
GroupWise 18.2.1 by the way
Cheers
Craig
