[ngw] MTA's not seeing some MTA's as down - Seems is not veryactive anymmore?

HI Al,

GW 18.13.1, ........yes want to upgrade but our HW is in terrible state.. ;-(.

I noticed something, we (SA has constant loadshedding ) so many of our GW servers goes down during the day sometimes for a lengthily period..

Now normally this was fine, messages to those MTA:s would just show pending and ones back online message would go through  to them.,but lately and total random some of the MTA's would not see (register those MTA's to be closed, so in this time all emails send to those would come back as "undelivered" internal emails between MTA''s .. now if i could catch this early enough and on each domain go and suspend the link to that MTA's it acts normal and say pending ..until i resume the MTA link on each MTA again?.. so so weird and this is on many of my MTA's if it was just one maybe better to understand but there are still some that act fine and see another MTA as down?


I have 14 MTA's and 12 PO's ..15600k users .. these MTA;s are spread local and WAN, no relevance it happens to some no matter where they are located..lan or wan

any ideas please>? Why would a MTA not see another MTA as down (all direct IP links between ALL of them...and they were fine for the longest  of time just now all of a sudden)
